Madlanga Commission Showdown: Chairperson Challenges Adams Over Laptop ‘Proof’

Adams rejected the suggestion that he had lied. He argued that his comments were intended to show that his laptop problems were not fabricated specifically for the Madlanga Commission. He maintained that Parliament's technical staff could potentially confirm his history of laptop problems.
The exchange became increasingly pointed as the chairperson stressed that the Commission was not asking whether Adams might have additional evidence elsewhere. Instead, the focus was specifically on the proof Adams claimed he had already given to the media.
Adams ultimately conceded that the single incident involving another member's laptop did not prove that his own laptop had malfunctioned continuously from October 2025 until three months before his appearance.
The confrontation leaves a key question hanging over his evidence: Was Adams simply providing context for his claim, or did he overstate the evidence when he told the public that he had proof?
