DADA MORERO: ‘MEN MUST STEP UP’ AS JOHANNESBURG MOBILISES AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE ‎ ‎Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero has called on men and communities to take a stronger stand against gender-based violence (GBV), saying the fight must continue beyond one-day campaigns. ‎ ‎Morero was speaking after joining men from across Johannesburg at the Men For Her Picket at Constitution Hill, where participants gathered to speak out against violence against women and children. ‎ ‎Morero said communities have a shared responsibility to protect women and create safer neighbourhoods. ‎ ‎“Every movement starts somewhere. ‎Charges Against Fannie Masemola Withdrawn as Ramaphosa Set to Discuss His Future ‎ ‎The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has formally instructed prosecutors to withdraw the charges against suspended National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola. ‎ ‎National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) Advocate Andy Mothibi made the decision following a review of the case, including evidence gathered by the Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), a Case Assessment Panel report and an assessment by independent senior counsel.
