JUSTICE MADLANGA SETS CONDITIONS FOR FEROZ KHAN POSTPONEMENT AS MEDICAL DELAY FACES DEADLINE

‎Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga has ruled that the postponement involving suspended deputy Crime Intelligence head Feroz Khan will proceed, but under strict conditions aimed at preventing an indefinite delay in the proceedings.
‎
‎Justice Madlanga directed that an independent medical practitioner be appointed to assess Khan’s medical condition and provide an objective assessment of his ability to participate in the proceedings.
‎
‎The Commission will be informed of Khan’s medical condition, while the detailed medical information supporting that condition will remain confidential.
‎
‎The approach is similar to the process adopted in the matter involving North-West businessman Suliman Carrim, ensuring that the Commission can properly assess the situation without unnecessarily exposing confidential medical information.
‎
‎Justice Madlanga further ordered that a firm deadline be established for Khan to submit his outstanding statement.
‎
‎The ruling makes it clear that Khan’s medical circumstances cannot result in an open-ended postponement, with the Commission seeking to ensure that its work continues without unnecessary delays.
