‎Michael Beaumont: Meanwhile, those who said “Abahambe" are sitting in a GNU whilst our borders collapse.

‎ActionSA says it has a proven record of improving struggling municipalities and is positioning itself as the party capable of delivering change ahead of the upcoming elections.

‎

‎ActionSA National Chairperson Michael Beaumont says the party has previously demonstrated its ability to fix municipalities and believes it can repeat that success.

‎

‎Beaumont also placed illegal immigration high on the party’s agenda, arguing that ActionSA is the only political party addressing an issue that matters to many South Africans.

‎

‎He criticised parties that previously called for undocumented immigrants to “Abahambe” (go home), accusing them of now sitting within the Government of National Unity while, according to ActionSA, the country’s borders continue to deteriorate.

‎

‎Highlighting what the party describes as its delivery record, ActionSA pointed to the City of Johannesburg under former mayor Herman Mashaba, saying more than 6,000 housing opportunities were delivered.

‎

‎The party says this was achieved through an increased housing budget and policies requiring private-sector developers to reserve units for affordable housing.

‎

‎ActionSA also focused on crime in Ekurhuleni, describing the municipality as an “active crime scene” and promoting Xolani Khumalo as the person it believes can tackle the problem.

‎

‎Beaumont argued that Khumalo’s previous actions against alleged drug dealers make him a suitable candidate to lead efforts to address crime in the municipality.

‎

‎ActionSA is therefore urging voters to support the party and its Ekurhuleni candidate, Xolani Khumalo.
